Court News

— Shane Jenkins, 31, Steubenville, entered a guilty plea to attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony, compelling prostitution, importuning and disseminating matter harmful to children. Jenkins arranged for sexual conduct in exchange for $120 with an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent posing online as a 15-year-old female and also sent a photo message of his private parts to the undercover agent, then traveled to Salem on Sept. 27 for the meeting. A sentencing hearing is set for Nov. 9.

— Shane Williamson, 45, Woodbine Avenue, East Liverpool, entered a guilty plea to fifth-degree felony telecommunications fraud and petty theft. Williamson used a telecommunications service to defraud a victim of $733.60 on March 30. A sentencing hearing is set for Oct. 12.

— Gary Eddy, 40, Leslie Road, Rogers, entered a guilty plea to two counts of fifth-degree felony passing bad checks and two counts of fifth-degree felony forgery. Eddy was accused of defrauding Ron Connelly by writing bad checks and forging checks for $1,850 payable to American Custom Construction on Nov. 22, 2021 and Dec. 15, 2021 . A sentencing hearing is set for Oct. 12.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a Wellsville woman was bound over to the grand jury, charged with harassment by an inmate, a fifth-degree felony, and disorderly conduct. While incarcerated at the county jail on July 14, Kelly Reed, 34, Sunset Drive, allegedly refused several orders to return to her cell which led to pepper spray being deployed. Reed then reportedly spit on a corrections officer.

A pretrial was set Nov. 28 for Brenee Fisher, 34, Alliance, charged with theft. Fisher allegedly used without permission a woman’s EBT card at the dollar general store in Alliance on Oct. 16. Fisher reportedly charged $187 worth of merchandise. Fisher is a care staff member for the victim who has developmental disabilities.

A pretrial was set for Michael Vasvari, 39, Youngstown, charged with engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools, and drug paraphernalia. Vasvari allegedly agreed to exchange $120 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to East Palestine to do so on Aug. 26. A glass crack pipe was reportedly found in Vasvari’s possession

A pretrial was set Nov. 27 for Devin Scranton, 51, East Main Street, East Palestine, charged with assault. Scranton allegedly punched another man in the face during an argument on Aug. 25 in East Palestine.

A pretrial was set Nov. 9 for Soung Sarge, 45, Hammdonsville, charged with assault. Sarge allegedly choked a man in Hanoverton on Aug. 28.

A pretrial was set Nov. 9 for Markus McCallister, 19, Commerce Street, Wellsville, charged with criminal damaging or endangering. A woman came home on July 2 to find her window had been broken by a brick on Tiger Drive in Wellsville. McCallister allegedly later admitted committing the act through a social media message.

Chad Fowler, 38, Salem Grange Road, Salem, was fined $250 for disorderly conduct. Fowler refused a lawful order of an evacuation and curfew at the scene of the Norfolk Southern train derailment on Feb. 3.

A pretrial was set Nov. 30 for Todd Hawthorne, 36, Williams, East Liverpool, charged with drug paraphernalia. Hawthorne allegedly was found with a meth pipe during a traffic stop in Columbiana on Aug. 24.

Debra Farka, 65, South Lane Dr., was fined $905 for OVI and dim headlights and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 suspended and credit for three days served.

A pretrial was set Nov. 13 for Charlene Sias, 47, Pancake Clarkson Rd., Negley, charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument. Sias allegedly was found with a marijuana bowl and syringe during a traffic stop Aug. 28 in St. Clair Township.

Eric Bartolomeo, 61, Ellwood City, Pa. was fined and sentenced to 30 days suspended for possession of criminal tools and disorderly conduct amended from engaging in prostitution.

Bryan Dickinson, 49, New Castle, Pa., was fined $750 and sentenced to 90 days suspended for engaging in prostitution and criminal tools. Dickinson agreed to exchange $300 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to East Palestine to do so on May 31.

Roger Higginbotham, 53, state Route 154, Lisbon, fined $750 and sentenced to 90 days suspended for engaging in prostitution and criminal tools. Higginbothman agreed to exchange $220 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to East Palestine to do so on March 9.

Tim Rinestine, 52, Overlook Drive, Salem, was fined $850 and sentenced to 90 days suspended and 20 hours of community service for engaging in prostitution, drug paraphernalia and criminal tools. Rinestine agreed to exchange $140 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to East Palestine to do so on May 24. When arrested, Rinestine had a meth pipe in his possession.

A pretrial was set on Sept. 5 for Rodney Smith, 36, Niles, charged with violating a protection order and obstructing official business. During a traffic stop on Aug. 26 in Columbiana, Smith was allegedly found to be a passenger in a car driven by the protected person. Smith reportedly resisted when officers placed him under arrest.

A pretrial was set Sept. 14 for Arthur Gingher, 53, Hofmeister Road, Petersburg, charged with driving under suspension, unsafe vehicle, speed, failure to display valid sticker, turn signals, failure to comply, possession of a drug abuse instrument, and possession of marijuana. Gingher was allegedly found in possession of marijuana, a syringe and an unknown substance in East Palestine on Aug. 24. Gingher reportedly did not pull over when officers initiated a traffic stop. He later ran out of gas, ending the pursuit.

A pretrial was set Nov. 27 for Dakota McCluskey, 31, state Route 644, Kensington, charged with assault. McCluskey allegedly punched a man during an argument and later kicked in a door on July 21 in Salem.

A pretrial was set Nov. 9 for Theodore Mikula, Saxonburg, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Mikula allegedly agreed to exchange $120 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveling to East Palestine on July 7.

A pretrial was set Sept. 12 for Savanna McKee, 27, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, charged with theft. McKee allegedly did not scan items at the Lisbon Dollar General and left without paying for the items on Aug. 8.

A pretrial was set Sept. 7 for Erik Taylor, 37 Ohio Ave, East Liverpool, charged with OVI and reasonable control.

Ashley Burton, 28, Minerva, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Laron Jackson, 18, Joliet, Ill., was fined $150 for marijuana possession.

Steven Malcomson, 26, Warren, was fined $100 for disorderly cond

A pretrial was set Sept. 14 for Dustin Andrews, 25, state Route 170, East Palestine, charged with drug paraphernalia.

A pretrial was set Nov. 7 for Rhondsa Padilla, 48, state Route 7, New Waterford, charged with driving under suspension and unauthorized use of a plate.

A pretrial was set Nov. 13 Nov. 27 for Nathan Nardini, 21, North Shady Lane, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and speed.

A pretrial was set for Anthony Angellone, 27, Sprucevale, East Liverpool, charged with seat belt, OVI and parking on the highway.

A pretrial was set Nov. 6 for Tyler Rawson, 25, Akron, charged with OVI, marked lanes and failure to display valid sticker.

Jamie Marshall, 34, Vienna, was fined $250 for stopping a school bus.

Zachary Clair, 30, Alliance, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Randy Muschweck-Felt, Steubenville Pike Road, Columbiana, was fined $400 for failure to stop and failure to control.
